Our organization is made possible through the amazing work of our volunteers. They are the very heart of Wendy's Village! Their selflessness and willingness to serve others, as Jesus Christ did, is exactly what people need during some of the most challenging times of their lives.
Mission
Everyone deserves to retreat from their daily struggles into a clean, safe home. There's much comfort to be found in walking through your front door and smelling the fresh scent of a spotless space, especially if it can make our darkest days just a little brighter. Our mission is to care for the homes of those who are facing true difficulties and could use a helping hand to get things in order and up to par.
Requirements
To ensure we provide the highest quality of service and safety for both our volunteers and the families we serve, all team members must meet the following requirements:

A Servant’s Heart: A commitment to our Christian mission and a desire to serve those in crisis with compassion, humility, and non-judgment.

Background Check: All volunteers must pass a standard criminal background check to ensure the safety and security of the vulnerable households we enter. Volunteers are required to pay $23.95 fee for this background check (additional court fees may apply potentially based on jurisdictions)

Physical Ability: Volunteers should be able to perform light-to-moderate physical tasks, such as standing, bending, and lifting up to 20 pounds.

Training Completion: Participation in a brief orientation and "Trauma-Informed Service" training session to learn how to interact sensitively with families in distress.

Reliability & Punctuality: A commitment to showing up for scheduled cleaning shifts, as our families and fellow team members rely on your presence.

Confidentiality Agreement: Agreement to respect the privacy of our clients by not sharing personal details or photos of their homes without explicit permission.

Minimum Age: Volunteers must be at least 18 years old (or 16 with a parent/guardian present during the service).
We treat your home like our own.
You'd (hopefully) never invite a stranger into your home, and neither will we. All of our volunteers are screened prior to being put to work. We run background checks on each and every person entering your home. We also train our volunteers on safe chemical handling, cleaning procedures, general health and safety procedures, and bedside manner.
